Join us again for another spectacular day of show choir on February 6th, 2021! We’re excited to announce that Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, Iowa is presenting its second annual show choir competition: the Key City Classic!

Enjoy a show choir experience with a large, inviting venue, a separate solo competition, a judging panel of industry experts, compliment corner, candy grams, and much more! We will host in our newly-renovated Wahlert High School and Mazzuchelli Middle School combined campus in the heart of the Key City! We are excited to bring a competition to the heart of our show choir world that is easily accessible to any show choir across the tri-state area and beyond!

Dubuque, Iowa is known as the Key City.

From the City of Dubuque:

Dubuque is Iowa’s oldest city and is among the oldest settlements west of the Mississippi River. The first permanent settler to the area was French-Canadian fur trader Julien Dubuque.

Dubuque’s location to the Mississippi River and its abundant land and resources, attracted large numbers of immigrants, particularly Irish and Germans, from overcrowded cities on the east coast. The Black Hawk Purchase Treaty allowed miners the first opportunity to settle along the banks west of the Mississippi and those that moved westward referred to Dubuque as the “Key City”—the place in which the door to their dreams of a better life was opened.

Dubuque is now the major retail, medical, education and employment center for the tri-state area,

and home to our very own:
